The first sit-down fish and chip restaurant was opened by Sam Isaacs in 1896 in Whitechapel, London, serving fish and chips, bread, butter and tea, all for 9d. umm that's how much now...?
“Fabulous, fresh and flippin' fantastic fish and chips! Portions are huge; chunky fish in a light batter, everything cooked perfectly. Good variety of options on the menu. I don't indulge too often but when I do it's oh so worth it! I've been for sit down and take away food and both are great. The staff always seem to be working very hard, are always polite and helpful. Mel is particularly polite and always seems to be there when I go in (only once every few months), other staff are always efficient and courteous. Definitely recommend.”
